Collaboration with The Veil Brewing Co.
We teamed up with our friends at The Veil Brewing Co. to brew the latest iteration of our dessert stout line: Macaroon, inspired by the delicious coconut pastry of the same name.
Macaroon presents an inky, opaque black and leads with a rich, wafting nose of coconut, chocolate milk, hazelnut, and marzipan. A thick, creamy mouthfeel is complemented by flavors of Mounds bars, powdered chocolate milk, and a chocolatey hazelnut. Macaroon is decadent, rich and drinkable.
MALT: Maris Otter, C80, C120, Munich II, Simpson DRC, Chocolate, Midnight Wheat, Flaked Oats, Brown Sugar, Coconut
HOPS: Hop extract

drinking a bottle dated 2018. I realize this beer is probably a bit past it's prime but holy shit what a mess. tastes like syrupy sugar water with an unpleasant soy sauce and weirdly metallic aftertaste. nothing redeeming or enjoyable about this beer - diabeetus.

Poured into a tulip glass via bottle
Color was deep leathery brown with light brown foam
Smell is brown sugar and faint coconut
Smell was a hodgepodge of everything, as none of the adjuncts stood out..tasted like a massive sugar bomb
Carbonation was low
Mouthfeel was thick
This was by far the lowest rated trillium stout ive had..as close to a mess as you can get, im hoping my bottle of the barrel aged macaroon fares better

On tap. Dark brown color, black.
Thick and syrupy. Nice coconut and coffee flavors all around. Light roast. Chocolate. Dessert like syrupy mouthfeel. Really solid.

Black motor oil liquid, dense pencil thin brown foam cap, quickly dissipates to some islands of foam
Aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, almonds, coconut, pastry
Taste is sweet macaroon, almonds, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon
Good sudsing , sweet, good gravity with our being syrupy
