Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Number 47 in the series is a unique take on the gose style. Strawberry, banana, and cherry give this Permutation a light ruby hue, and bright, berry-forward aromas straight from the farm. A wave of cherry and hint of banana on the nose lead into flavors of dark cherry, strawberry, a touch of lemon, and the balanced salinity of a traditional gose. Finishes mildly tart and refreshing - perfect for patio sipping or filling the cooler on a beach day.
MALT: Pale Malt, White Wheat Malt
HOPS: CTZ

Dark, dark red in color, with little to no head. Banana is there in the nose, along with the cherry. Flavor has a bit more strawberry, with plenty of cherry tartness, and banana again in the aftertaste. Solid stuff, well balanced and very refreshing.

gorgeous glowing ruby color. palate is beautifully lush strawberry note, getting some fleshy sweetness and tart seedy qualities. cherry is definitely there as well, some fruity acidity invoking lemon, grassy and funky notes, grain, and a tart salinity. perhaps some sweetness from the banana dancing around in the background but nothing obvious to my taste. this one was really incredible, especially when cold, found that it became a touch harsh when warm, while it was so deliciously refreshing after first cracking it.

16oz can, dated 06.27.18, poured into a stemless wine glass.
The beer pours a bright ruby red, lightly cloudy with a fizzy off white head that has no retention nor any lace. The aroma is decent, strong cherry with underlying mixed berry and salty wheat, there is a touch of banana that I don't care for with just a bit of citrus peel. The flavors are fine, strong cherry and mixed berry, the banana just feels uncomfortable and doesn't mesh well with the tart bacterial flavors but the salty base is a good counterbalance. The mouthfeel is good, lively and vibrant with a lighter medium body that coats well and finishes with a dry and tart bite.
Verdict: An okay Gose from Trillium. The Raspberry and Peach gose was vastly superior in the Permutation Series. A novel experiment but banana is a really difficult flavor to work with in beer and often times really amplifies the yeasty qualities in a beer in a bad way. This is one of those cases.

Pint can poured into a classic Ommegang tulip
A clear and still ruby red liquid, a jazzy, pink and rose colored foamy top springs up fast and fizzles out pretty quick too. Nothing left.
An abundance of fruity aroma's pop right out, red cherries, strawberry mostly, smells like a fizxy fruit soda.
The feel is very light and lively, like spakling wine with a little more earthy kick that turns dry. Very refreshing and easy feeling and texture.
A delightful fruity-berry flavor, the strawberry and cherries pop out most with both sweet and sour effects. A light, sour wheat andthe sea salt goes a long way, easily detected, as it adds an interesting new level to the overall flavor. A lively and jazzy fermentation but also showcasing a smooth, laid'-back approach from aging.
Complexity is very good for the style, highly interesting fruity complexity that is crazy easy to drink. A wonderful summertime relaxer.
