Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Permutation #51 features the distinctly American Simcoe hop. Pours a pale, dark shade of orange with medium haze. The nose is very fruit-forward, combining fresh citrus notes with honeydew melon and cantaloupe. On the palate, orange, grapefruit and tangerine arrive first, with a juicy follow-up of pineapple. Pleasant pith-like bitterness and subtle notes of lemon on the finish, with a soft, drinkable mouthfeel throughout.
MALT: Pale Malt, Honey Malt, Victory Malt
HOPS: Simcoe

This one pours a very dark orange color- it looks a bit oxidized. There's a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like dank weedy hops, sweet biscuity malt, piney hops, and grapefruit pith.
This is not one of the better entries in this series. It's way too dark looking, and the taste kind of translates- there's a sweet maltiness that's definitely out of place. It's also exceptionally dank, weedy, and green, with not much juicy hoppiness to provide some balance.
This is medium bodied, crisp and pretty clean, with a good level of carbonation.
I've liked most of the beers I've tried in this series- this unfortunately was a little off.

Underwhelmed, very one note dankness. Look forward to the next Trillium beer I try to get my opinion of them back on track.

Pours a cloudy orange gold with a bone white 1 finger head.
Aroma is awesome, pungent with citrus notes.
Taste has citrus notes strong up front with a smooth finish of solid hops. This is a one trick pony.
Feel is very smooth and surprisingly seltzery.
This is a fantastic take on a hoppy ipa. Hope the integrate it into a regular series beer.
