Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.

Number 58 bursts with flavor thanks to two lusciously fruit-forward hops. The beer hits the glass an enticing shade of yellow straw, with medium-heavy haze. Dense tropical aromas of pineapple and honeydew meld with orange. The first sip brings an assortment of citrus notes, including pink grapefruit, lemon zest, and a subtle herbaceousness. Melon and tangerine on the back end round out this balanced and refreshing DIPA.

MALT: Pale Malt, White Wheat, Flaked Wheat, Cara-Pils
HOPS: Mosaic, Galaxy, Citra, CTZ

This one pours a hazy deep orange color, with a small head. and lots of lacing.

This smells like sweet candied melon, pineapple, sweet grapefruit, pine and pith, herbs, lemon, and mango.

Citra and Galaxy is a hall of fame combo for sure, and it's no surprise that they go well together here. It's super juicy, with a pleasant and firm bitterness on the finish. I get mostly melon and pineapple, but there's definitely aspects of sweet grapefruit and herbal bitterness.

This is medium bodied, creamy and super drinkable, with a typical level of carbonation.

This is a really great DIPA- it definitely stands out amongst the millions of similar beers out there.

16 oz. can dated July 25, 2018 and purchased at Canton July 27. Poured into Belgian ale glass.

L: 2F white head with some lacing and a cap and ring. Beer is a hazy orange juice color.

S: Very nice nose of pineapple, citrus, and melon.

T: Malts have come forward a bit (wish I could have drank faster). Still a solid shot of citrus and melon, definitely noting the flaked wheat and a bit of an earthy, herbal finish. Quite good.

F: Medium body, moderate carbonation. The usual very strong Trillium construction and balance. Pretty drinkable despite high ABV for an IPA.

O: Another very strong DIPA offering from Trillium.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned July 25th 2018.

Murky opaque dull and pale yellow bodied. Very soapy head, practically looking as if weak shampoo bubbles that pop with extreme quickness and dissolve into nearly nothing. Looks like a half dead mimosa with soap on top strangely.

Hop aroma is large on pineapple and citrus orange sugars. Bright sensing on the nose with a good dialed down sweetness of light dusting powdered sugar. There's a faint hint earth in this as well which is unexpected. Not sure where this is going, but it's a solid IPA nose.

Bit of an odd palate. Wet bodied at bit on the mouthfeel flirting with a chalky to flour like texture in mouthfeel. Orange and very baby aspirin like sweetness with a touch of medicinal bitterness on first sip. Subsequent sips are more tolerable, even a bit of playful front tongue like fizz and juiced bitterness as well, but a bit strange in finish. Milky a bit as well in feel and taste.

There's some interesting character her, but a lot of odd weirdness in a citra and galaxy brew going on that just seems out of place. Drinkable at least.
