Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Numerous fruits contributed their lively characteristics to Permutation #55. Pouring a peachy shade of pink, there's just a light amount of haze on this radiant beer. Aromas of lemon zest and tropical fruit hit first, with a strong undertone of guava. Fresh fruits come in layers on the palate, with lime, pineapple and more guava up front, then grapefruit and orange following. A slight tartness and rounded salinity complement its refreshing nature.
MALT: Pale Malt, White Wheat Malt

this is fine beer, but its on the edge of insane to me that its as highly rated as it is here, i mean, its good, its fruity, but its a basic gose, a little kitchen sinky and muddled, and not as clean or refreshing and drinkable as i like them to be. obviously the trillium name carries some weight, but we cant let hype cloud our objectivity, and this is good but not great when we step back from who makes it, straight up. i know a lot of these fruits can be fermented down to nonexistent, and thats the case with the pomegranate here for sure, maybe the guava too, although i get a bit of its sweetness here in nose and taste, it ends up being the lime and the orange that stand out the most to my senses, fresh and refreshing, especially with the salt. the beer is cloudy and pinkish orange color, a little more murky than is appealing to me in a style like this, and lots of raw wheaty body too, a little messy even visually and texture-wise, but the flavor is nice, clean lime and slate type minerals from the salt, fresh orange and a little bit of that guava and pineapple tropical flare and sweetness. not overly sour but not all that refined there either, a little sweaty, but overall a fine brew, but could have come from anyone and doesnt really do anything to convince me that these guys are supposed to be one of the best...

Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.
Rich snappy three finger tall thick head, off white with a hint of pale orange body color to it. Settles quickly on top of a pinkish orange body color, opaque with a touch of lemon glow to it as well.
This is a bang on fruity impressive nose. Thick rich notes of salted fruits, tropical and citrus. Thick orange and pineapple, mixing with exotic aromas of guava and papaya like flavors. Excellent tropical qualities, but also some good brine hinting to still be a gose, with an almost sea salt like quality.
Exceptional flavor. The nose hints at tremendous fruit domination and perhaps sweetness but it is anything but. Rich tangy sourness mixing with fruit bonanza explosion. Tangy mixes of salt and tropics, as if being on the beach itself. Rich orange almost tangerine, mixing with a real pineapple and exotic flavor. Sweetness is very dialed down, but does manage a hint of turn on the great acidic notes of the beer.
Excellent fruited gose, might be on the of the best fruited goses I've ever had.
