Cutting Tiles is an exploratory series of Double IPAs featuring a range of aromatic single hop varietals brewed with raw local wildflower honey. This new version is dosed with 100% Vic Secret in all kettle, whirlpool and a massive dry hop addition. The honey lightens up the body while providing a floral, earthy backbone.
Heavily hazy and golden straw in appearance, Vic Secret Cutting Tiles offers bursting aromas of fresh red grapefruit and ripe cantaloupe that greet the nose with a touch of zesty pine. Tropical overtones of creamy pineapple and melon douse the palate with highlights of bright citrus blossom. Pillowy soft mouthfeel, with a restrained bitterness on the finish.

Thanks Drew.
Canned on 07/30/18.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance had a cantaloupe color with a small finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a nice pace. Moderate filmy lace wound around the glass very nicely.
The aroma had pineapple, berry sweet hop notes, honey, floral character, grassy hop notes, sweet danky onion and crushed white pepper.
The flavor moderately leans towards the sweet side of berry, onion, garlic and pineapple. That malt bill seems to confiscate the confusion of why this sounds awful because everything just seems to come together so fine. There's a subtle aftertaste of danky sweet onion and berry.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fabulous sipping quality about it. It seems as though that ABV is as projected and coming across in a way that does exactly what it's supposed to do to the ratio of the hops and malts. It's not under 8.5 nor is it over. One can tell it's right there! And then the finish - smooth dankiness drawing down on the sweet stickiness of the pineapple and onion. And a wonderfully blessed malt bill fulfilling it's destiny to be the feel it should be.
Overall, if this isn't a damn good New England styled DIPA, then I am Indiana Jones!
