Our tour of the New England coastline continues with the launch of our Lighthouse Series. Like the Harbor Island IPAs, our brewing team's innovative Permutations were the genesis for these beers. With amplified strength, the Lighthouses will continue to showcase specific hops while paying homage to historic New England landmarks.
Nauset Lighthouse has been a beacon of goodwill on the Cape Cod National Seashore for almost 150 years. Its iconic red and white body has guided Mariners away from the rocky coast, while providing a colorful backdrop for visitors to the town of Eastham.
Nauset Lighthouse's eponymous beer is brewed with El Dorado hops and pours a dark golden orange with heavy haze. Aromas of pineapple, candied mango, and white grape lead into a tropical and sweet flavor profile. Notes of orange, guava, grapefruit, and honey stand out over a full body and just a hint of underlying bitterness.
MALT: Pale Malt, Honey Malt
HOPS: El Dorado

Moderate and lasting head. A few spots for lace. Very cloudy, gold to amber color liquid.
The smell features some tropical fruit, unmashed dry malted barley grain, and black pepper. Interesting and appealing.
There's a smoothness to the liquid, almost oily, enhanced by the lower-than-average carbonation. The flavor is rich with an orange creamsicle element. Notable alcohol presence. Juicy. Long aftertaste without being too bitter.

L - dull shade of orange brown. Thick OJ haze. Lacing immediately separates from the rest of the head, leaving a melty ring behind.
S - buttery sweet lemon with melon candy. Whiffs of apple juice, but not in the typical spoiled, oxidized vein. Sweet, doughy character mixed with grape Jolly Rancher.
T - robust and grainy. Hints of booze peek through like sunlight behind the clouds. Thick, candied mango and pineapple juice. Tropical and fruit-saturated. Well-supported by the ABV. Rindy bitterness sneaks up in the finish and nags until you take another sip.
F - full and creamy, likely thanks to the ABV, but a touch airy and overcarbed. A wee bit chewy and suits the humid flavor feels.
O - this one doesn't seem to be as much of a hit as their standard fare, but I dig it. It's heavy and perhaps a bit sugary or sweet, so I can see it being hit or miss, but personally I'm a fan of the ultra-saturated, thick, merciless juiciness.

Dated 5/28/19 on the bottom of the can, 5 weeks since brewing.
Pours a nearly opaque, hazy, deep gold with two fingers of fluffy off-white head. Nose of honey, honeydew melon, grape must, orange rind, pink grapefruit and candied/preserved fruits. Taste matches the nose and brings in a little sap in to the mix, however there's a noticeable alcohol tang on this one that I'm not a fan of. Medium body, smooth carbonation, medium bitterness for a Trillium brew. It love the flavors of this brew but the almost rubbing alcohol tang mixed in is so distracting, I can't look past it.

Milky orange body, short white head, and moderate small and medium bubble lacing. Smell is full juice, pineapple, apricot and orange with mango and peach highlights. Taste adds strong resin and honeyed malt components. The feel is moderately weighty, with mild dryness in the close. A real pleasure.
