Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our brewing and cellar crew.
Permutation #60 pours a moderately hazy golden straw color. Fragrant lemongrass swirls to the nose underlined slightly by ripe cantaloupe and freshly baked biscuits. On the palate, juicy lemon and white grape meld with a soft oatmeal biscuit character and faint peppery spice. Light bodied and easy drinking with a silky, smooth finish and an effervescent carbonation.
MALT: Pale Malt (2 Row), Victory Malt, Naked Oats, Flaked Oats, Malted Oats, Acidulated Malt
HOPS: Mosaic

Growler from the source.
Pours cloudy gold with a short-lived head of white and minimal retention or lacing. Biscuits with some green onion in the nose. Light bodied with a watery mouthfeel. Honey-drizzled malt with some cracked grain and citrusy hops on the palate. Finishes a bit sweet with some light hops.
Tastes like second runnings and needs more hops.

Not at all what I expected from an all Mosaic oat pale from Trillium. Very disappointing. There's a metallic and graininess on the nose that squashes the hops. Taste brings more Mosaic attributes, but they're still not the star of the show. Finishes with mild bitterness, but plenty of acidity and some astringency. Creamy/pillowy mouthfeel is nowhere to be found, carbonation too high. Not a good entrance into the Permutation series for me.
