Hefeweizen marks another foray into the brewing traditions of Bavarian with our interpretation of this classic style. Pouring a brassy yellow color with moderate haze and billowing white foam, a graceful nose delivers aromas of soft fluffy biscuits interwoven with hints of dried fruits, banana, light bubblegum and subtly spicy clove. The palate closely follows the nose while delicate highlights of vanilla and faintly sweet meyer lemon elegantly support the luscious, creamy mouthfeel and clean malt bill. Light to medium bodied with a refreshing carbonation, Hefeweizen has a fully restrained bitterness that makes for a brisk finish.

The clove and other spices could’ve been a lot stronger. The look was excellent with the foam of the head going beyond the top of the glass. A good approach which could be greatly improved by having more clove and spice in the taste and aroma.

16oz can.
Pours cloudy yellow with a minimal head or retention. Bananas in the nose with a hint of cloves. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Bananas on the palate with some light doughyness. Zero bitterness. Finishes with lingering bananas and a touch of honey.
Not bad but the carbonation is low for the style and the clove component should be more balanced with the bananas.

On tap at the brewery.
Has all of the usual suspects for the style. Fruit and spicy, there is balance as well. Decent though nothing really pops. This one runs in the middle of the pack when it comes to US brewed Hefe's.
