Long Life is a American Wild Ale aged in oak casks with different varieties of wine grapes, hops and fruits. Each beer in the series is an appreciation of the nuance and complexity that extended time in oak imparts. All-in-all over two and a half years of barrel-aging and cellaring went into bringing this series to the bottle.
This edition of Long Life is aged on Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc grape juice, Hallertau Blanc hops, and peach. It displays complex and inviting aromas: ripe white peach flesh and gooseberry are intertwined with delicate jasmine, honeysuckle and subtle barnyard funk. The Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc grapes meld on the palate offering up flavors of tart pear, quince and dried persimmon with a flinty minerality, Overtones of peach carry through to the finish where the Hallertau Blanc hops amplify the palate with flavors of white table grape and bright lemon and add a herbaceous pop of elderflower and fresh lemongrass. Long Life - Peach is a touch sweet and moderately sour with a medium body, invigorating carbonation and a clean finish.
MALT: Pilsner, White Wheat, Rye
HOPS: CTZ, Hallertau Blanc
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Peach

Bottled and definitely bottle conditioned due to the sediment that was spotted and kept in the bottle
Pours like a robust white wine
Aroma is funky apricot
Flavour is chablis, top class with peach and deft sour finish

Pours a hazy light amber with very little head.
Smell is tart and oaky with notes of peach, citrus, citrus peel, white wine and hints of youghurt and funk.
Taste is tart and intense with a bit of sweetness as balance. Notes of oak, peach, peach juice, lime, lemon peel, white wine, funk and some youghurt. A lot going on, great complexity, but not overwhelming.
Mouthfeel is medium, dry and smooth, with effervescent carbonation.
Overall, an outstanding sour, deep and complex while hiding its ABV very well.

Like other wild ales, this has no lasting head and no lacing. The most mild of hazes to the nearly clearly golden color.
Very strong aroma, mostly of alcohol on the initial pour. Subsequent smells are a blend of pale ale and dry peach. Light white wine in the background.
This is not as tart as most sours. It is one of the most complex sours I've ever had: The peach and the wine are evident but subtle. There's a touch of bitterness in the swallow alone which is welcome and fleeting. Also, this beer has no lingering sugar. It's warming to the gullet and stomach, yet the alcohol is muted. The aftertaste is similar to the after effects of sucking a lemon, yet it is not lemony.

330ml bottle.
Pours clear gold with a voluminous head of white. A fast and crackling retreat left behind zero lacing with minimal retention. Grape must, vinegar, sour apples, and faint peach in the nose. Light bodied with a crisp, tacky mouthfeel. Vinegar-spritzed grapeskins and apples on the palate with a trace of peach. Finishes with some lingering throat burn, light fusels, and jowel-watering.

The wine juice really dominates but it remains extremely complex and quite delicious. Great nose full of barn and yeasty goodness. Super effervescent with a hint of peach, oak, and funk in the finish. Certainly one of the better Wild Ales I've had, this stuff is special.
