Genuine New Englanders are the type of people who are brave enough to take on a long, snowy shoveling session and lighthearted enough to crack a beer in their lawn chair afterwards. This new Double IPA is brewed for those True Englanders. For this beer, we used the new Sabro Hop from the Pacific Northwest.
Pouring a hazy golden yellow, True Englander swirls unique aromatics of coconut, ripe pineapple, white lily, and stone fruit. Full flavored tropical tones of piña coladas, lychee and key lime pie grace the palate underpinned by fresh tangerine, papaya and white nectarine. Medium bodied with a luscious and creamy mouthfeel, True Englander has a balanced and smooth finish.
MALT: Pale Malt, White Wheat
HOPS: Sabro

Picked up a four pack of cans at Curtis Liquors in Cohasset, Massachusetts for about twenty dollars. My ninety third brew reviewed from these guys. Very good.

The beer pours a nice looking white and creamy head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a hazy orange color with yellow notes towards the top.
The smell is wonderfully tropic. The coconut and lime notes come upfront and is followed by a juicy pineapple smell. It finishes with a sweet white lily.
The taste is fantastic. It's a variety of different tropical notes ranging from pineapple to coconut. The pineapple comes out first and the coconut later. The white lily appears in the finish alongside stone fruit.
The mouthfeel is pretty. Its texture reminds me of pineapple juice; medium body with a very smooth texture and almost nonexistent carbonation. It has a refreshing finish too.
Overall, this is a deliciously tropic beer worth getting. I really enjoyed the white lily notes and the new hop from the PNW is something else.

Chilled pint poured into a trillium class. Three finger off-white creamy foam cap over a pale, orange hazy liquid. Good cloaking lacings.
Fragrant pineapple on the pour, get the white lily and some lime
Taste is pineapple and coconut, a little bit of tangerine on the finish
Soft, smooth mouth feel, medium sudsiness , 8.1% abv is well hidden
Good beer

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass hard to tell when it was canned but within 4 weeks for sure. Pours a hazy orange with a a finger plus sticky slightly off white head that leaves loads of thick webs of lace yielding excellent retention. 4.75 Beautiful
Smell ripe cantaloupe, peach, papaya, mandarin, pineapple, and apricot. 4.5 Awesome
Taste follows melon, papaya, peach, tangerine, pineapple, and apricot. 4.5 Excellent
Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, soft gentle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 8.2% really easy drinking. 4.75 Incredible
Overall you call a beer a New Englander you better bring your A game and they really did. This stuff is really tasty and special. 4.5

Fluffy off-white head highly dimpled with thick lacing. Completely cloudy yellow puree liquid. Peppery, spicy nose, good focus, white grapefruit pith, tar, charcoal, not especially fruity. Longlasting pungency. Medium-bodied, quite foamy which helps combat the overall dryness. Palpable pineapple component then maybe nectarine, mango in support. Grainy, bready in a toasty manner, pepper, citrus seems a touch weaker than in the nose. No noticeable dankness. Square shouldered finish, if astringent. Good, not great.

16oz can dated 12/10/19.
Pours cloudy yellow with an inch of white fluff. Decent retention and lacing. Coriander rubbed grapefruit and tangerine with lime in the nose. Medium bodied at best with a thinnish mouthfeel. Candied tangerine with honeydew and zesty lime on the palate. Finishes with zero malt, a drying bitterness, and lingering spicy citrus.

16oz can
Pours a finger of white head into a whiskey snifter. Retention is average, maybe a little above. A little soapy looking. Body is orange juice. Looks fine.
Nose is primarily citrus rind up front. Very small notes of earthy hops. The nose in the can is extremely spicy hops, much better. Ultimately I'm reviewing out of the glass, which is a fine nose, but nothing special.
Flavor follows pretty close suit to the nose, citrus. Very clean, smooth, nothing wrong here, but somewhat one dimensional. It’s refreshing and tasty though, I'll be generous and give it a 4.
Mouthfeel does a lot of work, this is very silky and smooth, while also being bright and very effervescent. Body carries a good amount of weight to it. Carbonation is medium. Bitterness is on the lower end. Not sweet, not dry, well balanced. Some hop trub burn. Wonderful mouthfeel.
Drinkability is very high. The flavor is nothing to write home about, but the mouthfeel really brings it together.
The appearance turned out mediocre, lacing was very patchy.
Overall this beer gets its points from drinkability, refreshment, and its general feel. All and all it's a pretty nice beer.
