Even the truest New Englanders deserve a vacation. After a long winter and rainy spring, we all patiently look forward to the promise of warmer weather, longer days and day trips up and down the coast. The seasonal sequel to True New Englander, New Englander’s Vacation is a new pale ale we see ourselves enjoying on the beach all summer long. Using Sabro hops, New Englander’s Vacation packs a refreshing fruity punch at a sessionable and enjoyable 6.2%.
Pouring a light yellow straw color with a moderate level of haze, New Englander’s Vacation is uniquely tropical on the nose, swirling mouthwatering tones of bright pineapple, fresh coconut, and key lime juice. These flavors converge on the palate calling to mind piña coladas with waves of tangerine, ripe stone fruit and mango adding depth. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel, New Englander’s Vacation has a light and rounded floral bitterness providing balance and a drying finish.

Pours hazy yellow with a minimal head or retention. Bright citrus in the nose with grapefruit, orange, and lime. Light bodied with a limp, barely carbonated mouthfeel. Pithy, juicy tropicals on the palate with a drying bitterness and minimal malt. Grapefruit, tangerine, and unripe peach. Finishes dry, thin, and a bit flat with lingering citrus.

L - light, pale-colored straw yellow haze. Big head with pop-rocks noise-action. Lasts longer than expected.
S - fruity and orangey. Licorice. Coriander. Grape candy. Playful.
T - more of that cloying coriander type fruitiness. Fruit stripe gum, grape gummy bears, and a floral dandelion kick. Perhaps some coconut and pineapple juice. Getting some edible Easter basket-packing grass vibes, oddly enough. Apple flavor? Quite strange.
F - smooth and silky. Does not fall victim to Trillium overcarbonation. Heavy for a pale ale, but this is 6.2% after all, so maybe just right for what it is.
O - this is a wacky beer. Sabro hops are something else. Coconut seems to be the main attraction with exotic and chaotic fruit flavors that don't know which direction to go. I dig it. It's certainly a bit weird, but I like weird.

Really soft and subtle for a trillium ipa. Deft hand - no overwhelming juice and a pleasant malt in a tight body. Really easy to crush and think they should really make this one a regular when the weather is warm.

Canned 5 days ago.
L -- Pours a moderately hazy golden orange body with a finger of solid white head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and some lacing. Much less hazy than the majority of Trillium's hoppy stuff
S -- Orange zest, coconut, lemongrass, basil, lime sorbet, light vanilla, some diesel fusels
T -- Zesty citrus and pina colada-like notes combine quite nicely here for a great summer beer. Not as explosively unique as True New Englander, but still exhibits the Sabro hop quite nicely
F -- Medium- mouthfeel, medium+ carb. Very easy drinking and refreshing
O -- Sabro is a very tasty hop in my opinion, perhaps only second to Galaxy.
