My rating is based on the version brewed on 8/30/22; excellent beer, hops are fresh and popping in this one

Really exceptional - juicy without being overly sweet. Semi dank. Just couldn't get enough it. Awesome beer. I've had a few Cloudwater beers and really like them on their own, but know Trillium much better. Think this collab really works well.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
Canned on 09/04/19
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a hazy but somewhat thin orangery-yellow hue and was topped by a small, finely beaded, off-white crown that quickly fizzled away. An extremely thin collar encircled the liquid and a few dots of lacing stuck along the glass.
The aroma was amazingly fruity and complex. Peach and apricot notes came through big time. Loads of tropical fruits too. Mango was most apparent. Some guava and pineapple as well. Bit of citrus. Juicy orange notes were detectable. As the beer warmed, the pineapple intensified.
The flavor profile was also fantastic. Loads of bright fruitiness from start to finish. Huge peach and mango presence. Sweet but not excessively so. Juicy orange notes were also apparent. Pineapple came through in the center. Tangerine appeared on the back end. The beer finished with notes of citrus rind and just a hint of pithy bitterness. Like the nose, the pineapple really intensified with time.
The mouthfeel was light and fluffy on the palate but somewhat thin for the style. A spritzy, somewhat aggressive effervescence gave the liquid a nice creamy smoothness.
Single IPAs often seem to be overlooked these days, but this Trillium/Cloudwater collaboration was outstanding. The hops showcased an amazingly bright, tropical fruitiness, and the malts provided the perfect amount of balance and sweetness. This is definitely one of the best hoppy Trillium beers I have tried in a while.

Pils malt and citra hops only collab with cloudwater. Interesting concept. Love both of those.
Very turbid and not much lacing. Foreboding brown core with marmalade orange around it in the glass. Maybe a little British influence.
A little tang on the nose - combo of citrus pith and some of the lightly toasted white bread notes that can come off pils malt.
Taste almost has some orange marmalade qualities - nice sweetness with a complementary bite. Gets a little more lemony after a few tastes with a pleasant drying linger.
Really nice texture to this beer and it’s yeast is a marvel. I really should start trying to include that on some of these just like hops and malt — it really does make all the difference in the world of New England ipas. The dryness here saves the beer from getting off the rails.
Really fun beer and think the brewery would be wise to do pils and other hops on future collabs with cloud water.
