The latest addition to our Dessert Series is an Imperial Stout brewed for holiday enjoyment. Inspired by the classic, smile-provoking winter sipper, Barrel-Aged Peppermint Hot Chocolate conjures nostalgic memories of time spent warming up with family and friends. Brewed with chocolate, peppermint, and brown sugar, Barrel-Aged Peppermint Hot Chocolate pours a glass-coating opaque black color with a frothy fudge-colored head.
The peppermint addition plays a prominent role in the aroma of the beer, though it's seamlessly balanced by notes of milk chocolate mousse, caramelized brown sugar, vanilla cream, and textured oak. A mild and pleasant warming character is complemented by the viscous mouthfeel and rounded body. Barrel-Aged Peppermint Hot Chocolate is the evening fireside sipper we'll be reaching for throughout the holidays.
ABV: 14.9%
Malt: Pale Malt, C-80, Rolled Oats, Black Patent, C-120, Chocolate Malt, Simpsons DRC
Hops: Columbus
Additional Ingredients: Chocolate, Peppermint, Brown Sugar

Was ambivalent going into this one since it's no secret that Trillium uses concentrated flavorings in their dessert stouts and I wasn't sure how overly minty this would be. Ended up being quite nice, like a chilled peppermint hot chocolate. Would actually be quite refreshing in the summer. Mouthfeel was the high point, has that intense viscocity and velvety carb that these Trill stouts sometimes have
