At Trillium, we're committed to our New England roots through the support of local agricultural systems. Whenever possible, we look to source products grown by nearby suppliers. We've also fostered relationships with suppliers producing some incredibly high quality ingredients all over the world. With Guide Post, we're bridging the gap by combining our favorite raw ingredients from both here and there, with the goal of presenting something that is singular, yet representative of each originating location.
The third rendition of Guide Post pairs a duo of New Zealand hops with locally-sourced malt. A grist bill consisting of a trio of Valley Malt sets the stage for Motueka, an intensely aromatic varietal that we accented with an addition of the high alpha and assertively biter Moutere. Pouring a glowing deep straw yellow color, Motueka's signature aromas of dank tropical fruit and a kiss of lime first greet the nose. Secondary notes of grapefruit juice, resinous pine, and citrus pith announce Moutere's presence towards the back of the palate. A soft, yet sturdy mouthfeel underlies the incredibly complex hop profile displayed with Guide Post: Motueka & Moutere.
Malt: Valley Pilsner, Valley Oats, Valley C-20
Hops: Motueka, Moutere

Pours nicely like many Trillium IPA’s, smells great like many Trillium IPA’s, mouthfeel solid. I just don’t care for the taste. It doesn’t match the smell. Something is missing with this hops combination. Not my favorite version of Guidepost.
Update - had another one and want to add that the aftertaste resembles dill pickles. Nothing else has changed from first review. This is one of the few unimpressive Trillium beers that I’ve had. Not a fan of A street either.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
