Our first-ever Double Barrel release and the pinnacle of Cuvée de Tetreault, only 450 bottles of this American Wild Ale were produced. Aged in Bourbon and Cabernet Sauvignon barrels on Cab Sauv Grapes and Black Currants, we then reserved a select portion of Cuvée 2019 for further conditioning in another set of fresh Bourbon Barrels. The results of this extended conditioning are profound, offering a complexity that only time is capable of actualizing.

Bottle #264
Pours dark brown red nearing black in the glass with a creamy frothy subsiding tan pinkish foam head. Smells real complex, tart, fruity, sweet, with some vinegary acetic red wine notes, black currants, fresh Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, rich bourbon oak barrel, marshmallowy vanilla, hint of maple, cooked caramel, toffee, graham cracker, mild cinnamon-esque sweet baking spice, char, tobacco leaf, cigar box, roasted malts, fruity molasses, dark fruits, plum, cherry, black and red grapes, berry jam, dark caramel, toasted white bread, chocolate, with some floral earthy herbal hops. Tastes pretty intense and tart, sour and fruity balanced with the bourbon barrel sweetness, fresh Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, black currants, acidic red wine, dark fruit notes, bright red fruit, plum, black cherry, mixed berry jam, black grapes, chocolate, dark caramel, roasted malts, fruity molasses, toasted white bread, graham cracker, oak, fresh bourbon barrel, cinnamon-esque sweet baking spice, char, toffee, tobacco leaf, cigar box, vanilla, maple, cooked caramel, with floral earthy herbal hops. Feels thick, full bodied with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a really nice double barrel aged wild ale with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and black currants aged in red wine and bourbon barrels.
