The Emerald Necklace series tells a foundational piece of the Trillium Brewing story. If you’ve visited our home of Boston, you’ve likely encountered and enjoyed a section of the Emerald Necklace. Beginning downtown at the Boston Common and Public Garden, extending out to Back Bay, and all the way to Dorchester, this 1,100 acre, seven-mile-long public park system is a cherished green oasis in the heart of the city. Years ago, JC cultivated a plot in the Fenway Victory Gardens, where he grew edible and decorative plants, trees, and even some hop bines!
Featuring the largest standing body of water in the entire park system, the 4th addition to our Emerald Park series takes us to Jamaica Pond. Golden yellow and moderately hazy in appearance, Amarillo's bright citrus aromas draw us in. Notes of tangerine peel, lemon verbena, and makrut lime pop upfront, eventually giving way to Simcoe's pine-forward dank character. Finishing dry with just enough bitterness, Jamaica Pond's scrubby carbonation leaves the palate refreshed and ready for the next sip.

Picked up a four pack of cans at Curtis Liquors in Cohasset, Massachusetts for about twenty dollars. My ninety second brew reviewed from these guys. Just ok for me.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is straw, slight haze, head is off white with fine bubbles that presents one finger thick, spotty lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is light biscuit and pithy citrus, light pine - simple but balanced.
Taste is similar with simple, light biscuit note, pithy citrus, light pine.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a more simple hazy IPA with light malt, notable citrus and pine, and a notably crisp carbonation.

A solid hazy IPA but not a stand-out offering from Trillium. Light hazy yellow, juicy citrus nose, dry citrus palate. Low sweetness and medium bitterness. Light to medium mouthfeel. Good, not great.

A: Poured from the can into a tulip glass. Body is hazy golden with a 1-finger white head on top. Good lacing left behind.
S: Strong nose of tropical fruit (pineapple), limes and stone fruit (apricot, ripe nectarines).
T: Given the big nose, the flavor is almost a let-down. Citrus (grapefruit, oranges, limes), some apricot and a hint of pineapple. Some melon rind as well. Touch of pine near the back of the sip. A little sweet overall.
M: A bit watery in feel. Light-to-medium in heft.
O: Good stuff.

Light, pale yellow haze. Aroma is fresh lime, canned pineapple juice, hoppy in that new england way. Body is kind of thin, flavor is tropical and yet watery kind of.
