Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our production crew. The names are sequential, reflecting the brewing year in Trillium's lifespan, followed by a recipe indicator.
Sometimes we crave a piney bitter kick alongside big tropical fruit notes. Permutation 7.08 is a Double IPA that leans much heavier on its resinous edge than the majority of our hoppy offerings. Hopped with Citra, Galaxy, and Columbus, we increased our hot-side additions to add complexity to our standard huge dry hop schedule. Pouring a deep yellow with a thick, heavy haze, Permutation 7.08 offers aromas of pink grapefruit, orange zest, and candied melon. On the palate, layers of fresh pine, earthy spice, and citrus bitters are well integrated with the fresh fruit notes. Medium-bodied and refreshingly dry, we hope you enjoy this unique Trillium Double IPA.
MALT: Pilsner, C-15, Flaked Wheat
HOPS: Galaxy, Citra, Columbus

16 oz can gifted by Evan. 7/10/20 can date. Yakima Valley Hops Glass.
Let's go.
Oh yes. This is the milky, juicy, sweet nectar of a liquid I haven't seen in nearly a year. This has the thickest, juiciest body just like the best of the best. Creamy finger of head that recedes to a ring. Lovely.
Aroma takes me straight back to Trillium heaven when I would open the fridge and find a full stock and then crack a specially selected can and slip into the hot tub. I miss those days. This one has tons of hop greenery, wonderful tropical fruits of papaya, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and strawberries; then a little bit of diesel and ethanol here. Enough to burn the nostril hairs a bit.
Flavor brings some pretty heavy resinous pine and hop oils straight out front, followed by some pineapple rind and grapefruit rind. Some bitter orange peel follows that up, with hot diesel and ethanol behind it. Comes off a bit forceful.
Feel is creamy first and then falls away to some prickly carbonation which then reverts back to the creaminess, and then resinous, and the alcohol scorches the back palate and then the beer leaves resins and dryness.
Overall, a shabbier effort from Trillium, but it's still better than what I can get locally. As a beer overall, excellent. As a Trillium beer, eh, they have done better.

Uses Citra, Galaxy and Columbus hops; a little more bitter on the back end than a typical Trillium beer
