Collaboration with Omnipollo
What do Swedes love almost as much as a juicy double IPAs? Apparently, David Hasselhoff as JC learned during his summer visit to Stockholm. Photos of The Hoff were plastered throughout the brewery for the collaboration brew, which invoked powerful memories of JC's 'favorite' Hoff photo... one where he is strategically "covered" in puppies. After sharing this photo with the Omnipollo crew, everyone immediately agreed this would be name of the Double IPA we were brewing.
Initially brewed and released as a draft only beer in Sweden, Covered in Puppies has now arrived stateside! The label design was inspired by Karl & Kevin's favorite artist when they were kids: MC Escher. Karl and Kevin were able to fully realize the inspiration from Escher and meld that with the respective styles of each brewery. A nose of tropical fruit and bubble gum take the lead with and woody resin undertones. Palate is juicy with flavors of creamy pineapple and freshly baked bread, wrapping it up with a soft -as-a-puppy bitterness.

a: super murky burnt orange color with some copper and dark yellow notes. no real head to speak of, even with an aggressive pour
s: very fragrant. hits the nose the second the can is cracked. melons, pineapple, mango sorbet. sweet crackers, earthy herbal hops. passionfruit and papaya. guava, strawberry kiwi. a touch of sweetness at the end. really really nice
t: guava, melons, and pineapple. some bitter earthy tea leaf notes. mango, passionfruit, and some orange juice and bitter orange zest. creamsicle and kiwi. a touch of sweetness, but not overbearing.
m: fluffy, medium mouthfeel with low carbonation. only a very slight stickiness
o: very fine example of a NEDIPA. sweet, some bitter, and tropical. great balance and very drinkable

canned 8/14/20
Appearance is cloudy straw colored yellow. Aggressive pour yields a 1 inch foamy head that dissipated quickly.
Aroma is of pineapple faint wet grass and a hint of pine
Taste is creamy pineapple, bready yeast and faint bubble gum.
Mouthfeel is soft with a slight tingle, medium to low carbonation. Slight alcohol finish
Overall it is a very easy drinking DIPA, juicey and a nice flavor profile. Good beer.

Can from Tfontana, thanks for the opportunity!
Hazy murky light grapefruit juice with a decent sized frothy white head that persists. Dripping with citrus and tropical fruits with a bit of pine pulling up the rear. Faint bready malt sweetness.

Canned on 8/14/20; consumed on 8/22/20.
A: Poured from the can into a tulip glass. Body is hazy tannish-yellow with a half-finger of dense-bubbled white head.
S: Seems like southern hemisphere hops are in the mix- maybe Nelson, as I get white grape skins, tropical fruit and a bit of grass.
T: Juicy pineapple/pineapple juice. Green, raw, grassy/piney hops. Bite of alcohol at the finish.
M: Juicy, medium-bodied.
O: Feels a little "raw" and "green" right now - I wonder if this one may be too young and could stand to benefit from "softening" after a couple weeks in the can.
