Daily Serving was born out of our desire to express intense, saturated fruit character in beer form. After thoughtful experimentation with Permutation 6.47 and 6.51, we found that the German Berliner Weisse style, with its delicate, yet fluffy mouthfeel and even-keeled acidity is the perfect foundation for robust fruit additions.

Daily Serving: Blackberry & Plum pours a heavily hazy dark purple color. The aroma is smile-inducing, reminiscent of summer berry pie, stone fruit gummies, and a sweet plum reduction. It's soft on the palate, with gentle carbonation and a refreshingly tart finish.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, Flaked Wheat, White Wheat, Acidulated Malt
HOPS: CTZ
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: Blackberries, Plums

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA

Served in a tulip

Fantastic appearance. A four-finger tall mass of tight, creamy, magenta foam topped the oxblood colored liquid. The head slowly fell to a thin, lasting film. A patchy wall of lacing coated the glass and lasted until the drink’s end.

The aroma was really fruity and bold. Berry notes dominated. Blackberries were most prominent. Some raspberry was noticeable too. There was a subtle peach or nectarine presence as well, but I unfortunately picked up no plum. All in all, so simple yet so good.

Berries again came through big time in the flavor profile. This tasted like an even mix of blackberry and raspberry, even though the beer contained none of the latter. Bit of cracked wheat and lemony tartness in the center. Subtle peach and/or nectarine notes were also detectable but unfortunately no plum. Fairly sweet overall yet also somewhat tart. More lemon and tartness on the back end and the finish.

Nice fluffy, medium bodied mouthfeel. Creamy, slick and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a finer bubbled, medium effervescence that was perfect for the style.

Daily Serving: Blackberry and Plum is another terrific offering in Trillium’s Daily Serving series. Although the plum was hard to pick out, it seemed to add some subtle stone fruit notes and a bit of additional complexity.

Damn, there are a lot of Daily Servings out there - it’s like looking through the menu at Cheesecake Factory. I mean, I rather study for the SAT’s than go through that menu. But Raul will move on... Yeah, it’s there - I mean, it’s not there like a Jamba Juice on the corner of 5th and Main, but it’s there like something that is a lil better than ok. And I’m just going to end there: this offering is just better than ok.

16 oz. can dated 01/27/21

Pours opaque dark purple with a dense fluffy creamy pink colored foam head. Super jammy notes, juicy fresh fruits, plum, blackberries, mild tartness, light wheaty graham crackery malt base. Feels medium-full bodied, creamy with smooth moderate low carbonation. Overall a really great fruited sour Berliner weisse with blackberry and plum.
