For the counterpart to Sunrise Valley, named after upper Moutere's Freestyle Farm in New Zealand, we travel to America's Yakima Valley for our second hop harvest collaboration with Garage Project. A hop-free boil and massive dry-hop addition of select Mosaic and Citra combine for a giant, juicy, hazy homage to the hop growing Mecca of Yakima Valley. Pouring a deep yellow, with a soft, glowing haze, this highly aromatic Double IPA offers a bouquet of fruit-forward notes. Pineapple chunks, fresh-squeezed orange juice, nectarine, and ripe melon are the dominant flavor profiles here. Medium-bodied and enjoyably dry, Yakima Valley finishes soft and incredibly balanced.

Pulpy, opaque mango-flesh-hued body. Modest head production; OK retention, and nice lacing.
Nose is juicy and dank, a blend of tropical and citrus fruit, of bright and pungent herbs, all complementing each other in an overall melange that simply screams, "IPA!"
Incredible punch of fruit juice as soon as it hits your tongue. Grapefruit, mango, lemon, papaya, peach, orange; I had to immediately dive in for another sip, there's so much fruity flavor. Cream, banana, strawberry, honey, pineapple; fairly restrained but noticeable dankness. White bread and cracker provide a fairly bland but effective malt canvas for the hops to dance and play upon. Moderate sweetness; fairly low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is on point, a near perfect example of the blend of pillowy creaminess and lively bite that elevates Tree House, Trillium, Tired Hands, Hill Farmstead, and The Alchemist above the rest. Fairly quick finish, readying you for the next sip, although it's only medium dry. Light-medium bodied, much lighter than most 8.5% imperial IPAs, but not at all watery.
I'm not exaggerating about the short finish; the flavors seem to slide down your throat with the liquid itself. That doesn't prevent the beer from imparting a massive amount of hoppy flavor in the process; instead, it simply encourages you to keep drinking.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
02/08/21
Served in a tulip
Hazy, canary yellow appearance. The body was capped by a fluffy, finger-tall, bright white crown that fell to a thin collar. Some patchy, streaky lacing stuck along the glass.
The aroma was pretty uneventful initially. Citrus notes were most apparent. Orange and grapefruit perhaps. Bit of tangerine as well. As the beer sat, the nose became somewhat more interesting. Sweet peach notes appeared. Peach candy rings came to mind. Hint of dankness too.
The flavor profile was even more straightforward. Citrus notes dominated. Big orange and tangerine presence up front. Somewhat tart and tangy. White grapefruit was noticeable as the beer moved along the palate. The beer finished with loads of pithy, dry and bitter grapefruit rind.
Nice fluffy, lighter bodied mouthfeel. Creamy and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a finer bubbled, somewhat zippy effervescence.
Trillium has had a number of misses with their recent hoppy collabs, and this beer was one of the more disappointing of them all. Although it was in no way bad, it was pretty lackluster and forgettable.

My first impression was of a cross between a NEIPA (haze and hop bill) and a West Coast (fizzy, drier and lighter). Well-balanced, if little more watery than some of my favorites, though still lupulin-loaded. Citrusy and long-lasting -- keeps its haze and flavor over a long drink.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a fluffy white head that stuck around for quite a bit. Lots of retention on the lacing. Scents of those orange slice gummies covered in sugar, fresh canned pineapple. Getting flavors of orange or sweet clementine, ripe honeydew melon. Fluffy and smooth mouthfeel. Not much bitterness at all but a tiny bit of hop oils on the finish. Hardly any hint of the 8.5% ABV. Solid beer, very fruit forward if you’re looking for a sweet NEDIPA without any bitterness.
