Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
02/16/20
Served in a tulip
The beer poured an opaque, pale yellow hue and was topped by a fluffy, finger-tall, bright white crown that quickly dissolved. In typical Trillium fashion, there was zero head retention and no lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was fantastic. Big tropical fruit presence. Ripe mango and pineapple were most apparent. Quite sweet but not excessively so. As the head receded, citrus appeared. Juicy orange notes specifically. Hint of dankness. There was a subtle alcohol presence as well.
Citrus notes came through big time in the flavor profile. Freshly squeezed orange juice notes dominated. Loads of tangerine and clementine as well. Big lemony tartness in the center. Grapefruit notes appeared on the back end and carried into the moderately pithy and bitter, rind-like finish.
Nice rich, creamy, fuller bodied mouthfeel. Slick and smooth on the palate. The beer contained a fine, moderate effervescence that fluffed up very nicely.
Charge the Channel is a solid Trillum x Vitamin Sea collab that definitely brings back memories of Channel Charge. While not particularly unique, this beer was quite enjoyable.

Canned on 2/16/21 and enjoyed on 2/21/21. Pours a hazy pale yellow with fluffy white head and lacing. Scents of citrus zest, dank/piney hops. Strong flavors of grapefruit, lemon zest, and some orange creamsicle on the finish - even got a little licorice finish on a couple of sips. Lingering pleasant bitterness. Really nice beer, Trillium continues to crank these out on a regular basis. Not to be confused with “Channel Charge,” I double checked to make sure this one wasn’t the same beer. Similar, but different (although I didn’t try Channel Charge.
