Our Fated Farmer Series is a landmark step toward realizing our foundational vision for Trillium: Build a place that intuitively celebrates the intersection of New England farming, agriculture, brewing, and an integrated community experience. The grist of each of the dynamic Fated Farmer wild ales is set on the structure of Valley Malt and is barrel fermented in 500L puncheons with our Native New England Mixed Culture and aged for 5-7 months, before re-fermenting on freshly harvested fruit. The beers in this series are explorations of how natural agriculture can enhance and accentuate our wild ales - as we continue to produce new batches of Fated Farmer we hope to give a recurring showcase to this concept.

Presenting a gorgeous bright ruby red, Fated Farmer Black Muscat & Malbec offers aromas of sparkling Lambrusco, glou-glou, raspberry jam, and blackberry. Medium-bodied with structured, clean acidity, this American Wild Ale finishes dry with a touch of oaky tannins.

330ml bottle

Pours a translucent orange red color with a quickly dissipating light pinkish off-white foam head. Smells a bit funky and barnyard-esque, some toasty hay, horse blanket, straw, rustic grainy malts, hint of spice, oak barrel, tart red wine grapes with mild acidity, and some herbal earthy hops. Tastes tart, vinous, oaky, dry, earthy, real nice balance of everything, tart dry tannic dark black Malbec red wine grapes with some sweeter Muscat notes as well, grape skins, stems, must, almost a dark rosé natural wine taste, subtle vinous notes of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, red plum, hint of citrus peel, pretty crisp and refreshing, lightly acidic, mild barnyard funk notes, toasty hay, straw, oak barrel, rustic grainy malt, earthy spice, dusty herbal hops, with a touch of leather. Feels rounded, lightly juicy, medium bodied, smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice and balanced barrel fermented wild ale with Malbec and Black Muscat grapes.
