Really heavy on floral orange and peach notes, more like blossoms than the fruit flavors. Big esters which I think is the cause of the amplified floral notes. Decent but many other Trillium offerings are more enjoyable.

 

L - canned on 8/15/2022 with a 7% ABV. Hope I'm in the right place. Pours a pale yellow milky translucence with minimal head that quickly fizzles away.

S - doughy, pale malts and lemon lime. Herbal and earthy with gentle satsuma pith.

T - soft, lemony hoppiness. Fresh and inviting, yet subtle and low key. Mild fruit salad sweetness with hints of mango, white bread, and pineapple creamsicle. Bitterness sneaks up on you.

F - supple and chalky. Feels loaded with hops.

O - good Sunday afternoon kinda beer. The earthiness and mealiness would have you believe this is a miserable hop bomb, but it's somehow gentle and soothing. Getting a lot of the "bake".

Interesting concept behind this beer, the idea of breaking bread in beer version. My first beer from Trillium and Brockton Beer company. I poured it into tulip glass; the temperature was 46 degrees. A frothy and creamy off-white three-fingered head was created. The slow dissipation left loads of lacing on the glass. The color charts around SRM 6, golden yellow straw hues. This beer is hazy, not sure if it is a Hybrid or NEIPA.
The initial aromas in the beer are bread, floral, and toasted crackers. Next, I detect mangos, tangerines, and pineapples. Finally, I pick up a hint of herbal, mineral, malty sweetness, and a skosh of phenols.

Bread is the main component of the beer as it wallops the palate. The fruit I taste is peaches, pineapples, tangerines, and a hint of lemons. Lastly, I taste this odd yeasty note, phenols, white flowers, minerals, and dankness. This beer is a hybrid. Sadly the bread part of the beer masks the hops.

The mouthfeel is astringent and dry.

The body is medium, medium carbonation, and lingering finish.

I love the concept behind the beer and how it was made. I think hops just were drowned out by the massive bread portion. Also, not a fan of fruit and flowers together in beer; that is a personal preference.

 

A: The beer is very hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that consistently left a short head covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dank citrus and tropical fruits are present in the nose along with hints of pine.
T: The taste follows the smell and also has hints of grainy malts and alcohol with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is definitely unique and seems like a hybrid of styles.

Serving type: can

Cloudy orange with a fluffy light lacing. Smell is bready, piney, and lighter notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, and grapefruit. Taste is a slightly tangy citrus with a malty, bready, piney, bitter and dank background. Very mild body, booze is very well disguised, mouth watering finish. I like it, but feels like it’s just short for some reason. Maybe it’s too malty, piney, and bready than not citrusy enough.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 8/5/21, so 6 weeks old.

Looks very good in the glass. Hazy pale orange juice colored body. Decent white head persists throughout, impressive given the abv, leaving layers of lacing.

Interesting aroma, a touch of fruit, and I even get the bread smell.

On tasting, juicy, warm, a fleeting bite to it.

Mouth between medium and full, finish a lightly bitter warmth, with a faint metallic note.

Overall, taste and finish didn't live up to the promise of the look and nose. Not bad though.

 

 

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, nearly opaque, medium yellow amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and lightly piney hops, orange, grapefruit, lemon, a touch of stone fruit and pine. Flavor is citrus hops, orange, lemon, grapefruit, a suggestion of mixed tropical fruit and a little pine. Moderate piney and citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I couldn't pass up a chance to finally try a Trillium beer, although I was hoping not to get a low bitterness hazy for this first introduction. Poured very hazy, but had a promising citrusy aroma and ended up with a moderate, but satisfactory bitterness in the finish. A bit of pine, which is always a winner for me. This is the kind of hazy I hope for, since I do like the taste of that heavily dry hopped style, but they always quickly turn to old fruit juice to my palate. The handful that are sufficiently bittered are almost always a pleasure. This one certainly is. The citrus is not as intense as a West Coast IPA, but there are other interesting herbal hop flavors to compensate, and a nice lingering finish. A great introduction to Trillium and a pleasure to drink.

A nice looking beer as Trillium always are. I'm missing something off of the nose though for me to be world class. This follows on the pallet. I'm getting a lot more hop burn and bitterness than I usually do from them. I wish I knew the hop combinations here. The alcohol is present I would say. It might be high for some folks but I like an alcohol forward beer. Other beers hide the 8.5% better though. I like that it's more bitter than my Midwest hazies I drink more often. I'm not loving the hop burn though. It's a nice beer but they make a bunch more that are better.
