Collaboration with Monkish Brewing
If there's an opportunity to insert a hip-hop reference, you better believe our friends at Monkish Brewing are going to take it! The latest entry to our single-hopped collab series features an abundance of one of our favorite American hops in Mosaic.
Insert Hip Hop Reference Anywhere pours a gorgeous light orange with striking haze. The aroma offers everything we love about Mosaic's complexity. Notes of juicy mango, melted pineapple popsicle, creamy orange sherbet, and blueberry pie filling dance on the tongue. Medium-bodied with a creamy finish, this 10% Triple IPA remains drinkable throughout the glass.

L - pours a rich afternoon sunset. Mesmerizing orange with sunkissed fringes when held in the right light (an afternoon sunset!). Tightly-knit head with a more foamy appearance than typical Trillium fare. Dissipates just as quickly, but leaves a nice ring of legs and lacing behind.
S - Muscatel grapes and vegetal papaya. Pithy citrus with some dry doughiness. Gotta be the hops!
T - starts with pungent grape that quickly develops strong, earthy pink grapefruit bitterness. Chock full of hops. Peppery assault on the tongue. Mosaic gives way to a syrupy berry flavor with splashes of honey sweetness. Blanketed over everything is a hell of a potent hop acidity. Almost minty on the finish; that same feeling when you exhale after chewing gum. The hops are absolutely ablaze.
F - thin and crispy for a TIPA, but that's not unusual for Trillium or Monkish. Still syrupy enough to hold itself together and offer a smooth consistency, just with extra peppery tanginess to accentuate the hops.
O - woo boy this one's fiery. Packs some serious hoppy bitterness, but at the same time boasts a wide array of flavor to keep you coming back for more. Hoppy is an understatement, though. Almost leaves you panting like after eating a Chili pepper. Puckering, but I can't stop drinking. Won't stop.

Pint can poured into a teku creates a frothy one finger foam crown , good retention, reduces to a thick layer with clingy lacings over a dark orange juice liquid
Aroma is orange citrus, tangerine, mango, juicy fruit bubble gum
Taste is mango, orange , citrusy
Sudsy mouthfeel , slight bitterness, the hop bite nicely lingers
Good beer

Drank from a can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
08/04/21
Served in a tulip
Thick, peach nectar-like appearance. The turbid looking body was capped by a frothy, finger-tall, off-white crown that quickly dropped to a pencil thin collar. There was no lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was impressive and definitely had a lot going on. Juicy peach and apricot notes were immediately apparent. Like the appearance, very nectar-like. Lots of ripe mango as well. Candied pineapple was also noticeable. Good dose of citrus too. The nose was quite sweet overall, though not excessively so for the style. Touch of dankness. For a Mosaic hopped beer, however, I was anticipating a bit more.
The flavor profile was somewhat of a roller coaster ride. Rich, sweet and malty up front, like a typical triple IPA. Peach and apricot notes were apparent, along with a big dose of juicy citrus. Orange and tangerine came to mind. Quite sweet but also tart and tangy. Ripe pineapple was noticeable in the center. Orange peel and white grapefruit came through on the back end and the finish. Loads of lingering pithy, rind-like bitterness after the swallow.
The mouthfeel was somewhat disappointing. Medium bodied for the style. A touch thin perhaps. The liquid contained a finer beaded, moderate effervescence that felt somewhat creamy and slick.
Insert Hip Hop Reference Anywhere had a fantastic nose, but the flavor profile was a bit too sweet up front and bitter on the finish for my liking. Triple IPAs are a polarizing style, and this particular one demonstrates why this is the case.

Canned on: 08-04-21. Thanks Phineas McClintock for the can.
A - Pours an opaque medium orange color with some soapy lacing.
S - Mango, tropical fruit, pineapple, and spicy fruit rind.
T - Pineapple, spicy pineapple rind, peppery citrus, and mango.
M - Big body, soft finish, chewy borderline frothy on the palate and finishes dry on the entire tongue while the rest of the mouth is wet.
O - The ABV is extremely well hidden in this beer making it deceptively drinkable.

pours a murky orange liquid. Almost no aroma on the nose. Body is average but minimal flavors. No hop burn. Easy to drink, just pretty bland. For $22 per four pack this blows. Dramatically worse than other half collab released the week prior. I’m sad I bought the limit, would feel guilty even trading this
