Collaboration with The Veil Brewing Co.
Yummee pours a gorgeous deep plum color, leaving viscous legs on the side of the glass after a swirl. Mouthwatering aromas are immediately present, sending waves of mixed-berry compote, tart rhubarb pie, and raspberry fruit leather across the palate. Cinnamon's presence is mild and offers an exciting complexity that brings life to each sip. Yummee is juicy and thick on the palate, finishing sweet, with a soft, yet vibrant acidity that concludes each sip with a welcomed tartness.

Drank from a can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
Canned on 08/10/21
Served in a tulip
Impressive appearance. The beer poured a viscous and completely opaque, deep blackberry hue. A fluffy, finger-tall, magenta colored crown topped the body and quickly fell to a small dollop of froth. There was no lacing, but a film of fine sediment coated the glass as the liquid receded.
The aroma was fantastic. Berry notes dominated. Blackberry was most prominent. Perhaps some blueberry too. Nice cinnamon presence as well. Subtle raspberry notes were also detectable. Excellent balance of sweet and tart. As the beer warmed, the blueberry intensified.
The flavor profile was also terrific. Berry notes again came through big time, but they were definitely more tart and less sweet than in the nose. Blackberry led things off. Some blueberry was noticeable as well. Tart lemony notes appeared in the center. Slightly acidic. Blackberry reappeared on the back end. More lingering lemony tartness and acidity after the swallow. Unfortunately, I did not pick up the cinnamon here.
The mouthfeel was outstanding. Completely full bodied for the style. Viscous and almost smoothie-like. The liquid contained a fine, somewhat prickly effervescence that worked perfectly for the style.
Both Trillium and The Veil make some of the best fruited sours on the planet and, unsurprisingly, Yummee was amazing too. Every aspect of this beer really blew me away.
