Collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewery

Pouring a deep yellow, with just a slight hazy sheen, My Name is JC is the West Coast approach. HBC 586's aromatic profile leans tropical, displaying a medley of ripe mango, guava nectar, and zested citrus. The back of the palate leans traditional, finishing with a soft, piney bitterness. Dry and incredibly approachable, My Name is JC considers techniques gleaned from Alvarado Street and a clean American ale yeast strain to deliver a modern take on a classic.

This is what I expected from Trillium. Dark orange and opaque, nice head/lacing. Strong scent of over ripe mango on the nose. Taste follows, mango up front with some bitterness at the end. Soft mouth feel, just what I wanted from trillium.

Picked up a four pack of cans at Curtis Liquors in Cohasset, MA for about twenty two dollars. My sixty fifth brew from these guys. Canned on date of 3/12/24. Very good, very expensive.

When they put their mind to it, Trillium can make a good west coast IPA. It ain’t up there with the best in the west, but it’s some of the best you’ll find in New England. Never quite as clear and dry as I’d like, it hits the mark quite well - crisp, dank-ish, piney, citrus, kiss of resin. Dry enough. Damn good. Wish I got more.

Sweet tropical hoppy and hint of pine, and slightly malty nose on this one! Taste follows with a slightly malty, piney tropical hoppy, and hint of hoppy bitter swallow. There's a lingering overripe nuttiness that makes the finish a little weird...this is way too malt forward and it didn't give the hops a chance to shine. Decent...
