Pouring an invitingly hazy golden yellow, Double Past Present Pretzel serves up enticing tropical aromas of diced pineapple, creamy mango popsicle, and guava. On the palate, bright citrus and stone fruit notes are layered upon a light, multigrain malt character. Soft and medium-bodied with a gentle bitter finish, this Double IPA represents a symbiotic relationship between miller and brewer, shining the spotlight on local, healthy food systems and regenerative agriculture.

L - straight pineapple juice. Thick yellow paint coming out of the can. Quite possibly the thinnest head I've ever seen. Amazing I can get even one finger out of this. Looks kinda like spit bubbles. Dissipates about as quickly as you'd expect. I do like that thicc shade of yeller, though.

S - hop puree. Earthy, herbal, the works. A little bready, a little lemony, and a little sugary. Has a certain heft to it. Ripe honeydew.

T - bitter fight between heavy, creamy tangerine/grapefruit and dry, grassy hoppiness. Wants to be sweet, but aggressively restrained by the dry hopping. Doughy stickiness; overripe is the word. Hint of vanilla and cereal to close it out.

F - looks like the carbonation is probably trash, and while it's not great, it's still got that heftiness to back it up. Slick and chonky, this is fun to drink.

O - I don't know what pretzels have to do with anything, but I do love when beers are named after random food (looking at you, Other Half). I guess it's got that suffocating doughiness, which I imagine is just a fuckton of hops. Polarizing beer that hits hard with hops, but isn't a disgusting bitter lupulin bomb.

From a 16oz can dated 10/4/21 into a tulip.

Pours a very pale, opaque straw color with about two and hale fingers of white head that dissipates quickly leaving very little lacing.

Smells strongly of pineapple, oranges, tangerines and onion grass.

Taste follows but not as strong or distinct as the nose. Some citrus, bit of grass and pine. Alcohol is also noticeable but not over-powering or off-putting.

Soft mouthfeel. Alcohol warming. Bitter, slightly acidic aftertaste. Medium carbonation.

Overall, it's a really good beer-better than anything you'd find on the shelf in this category. Maybe a little disappointed because I expect more from this brewery. Not turning my nose up at it though :)
