Collaboration with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
Continuous DDH thrills for the most insatiable hop heads! The triple threat offense of Citra, Mosaic, and BRU-1 team up for a daily dose of dry-hopping, resulting in an absolutely electric, palate-pleasing sensation. Traditional hopping rates do not apply.
For our first collaboration with Dogfish Head, we took inspiration from one of the most legendary stories in all of craft beer. Back in the 90's DFH Co-Founder Sam Calagione rigged a 1940's thrift store electronic football game to continuously kettle hop his Double IPA for 90 minutes at a consistent rate...90-Minute IPA was born.
We took this line of thinking and applied it to the cellar instead of the brewhouse, swapping out a continuously kettle-hopped IPA, with a continuously double dry-hopped IPA that features malt local to each brewery.
Named after the storied football game, DDH Tru-Action pours a golden deep yellow with a pleasant, glowing haze. The level of hop saturation is immediately apparent, as notes of citrus gummies, orange creamsicle, and ripe pineapple jump from the glass. DDH Tru-Action is medium-bodied, finishing dry with a refreshingly mild piney bitterness.

Fire up the conveyer belt and get the hops rolling, Trillium brewers team up with those of Dogfish Head for a continually dry hopped New England IPA that may seem to be a throwback to a previous hop time.
Continually Double Dry Hopped Tru-Action pours a foggy golden taupe appearance that glows dimly through its heavy grain silt. As a foamy cap builds on the rim, the tantalizing scent of candied citrus, tropical fruit, berry, hemp and herb greets the nose with vibrancy and curiosity. Soft and sweet on the tongue, hints of vanilla wafer join the grain profile of honeysuckle, spongecake and taffy.
With that continually hopped regimen, the hops flavors are bold on the middle palate with a juicy, candied and radiant display of valencia orange, lime, mango, apricot and cantaloup. With the ale trending gradually bitter, the late taste is crisp with herbal bitterness of cedar, black tea, verbena, sassafras and cannabis.
Medium bodied and showing impressive dryness before closure, the beer trails into a hemp-laced character of gin, blackcurrant and fresh cedar in a refreshing, drinkable and full flavored session.

Classic Trillium ipa
All haze and no head. Looks like juice after a minute.
Taste is typical ipa from trillium. Juicy and bitter finished. The flavor shines. Good beer.

Pours a hazy yellow to orange color. A large head settles after a couple of minutes and yields lacing.
The nose opens with citrusy notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lime and soft notes of tropical fruit, particularly mango and pineapple. Herbal and dank aromas of grass, pine and chive add a layer of pungency.
The taste is bursting with hops, evoking notes of citrus and tropical juice and candied fruit. However, what starts out as a gentle bitterness on the initial finish, soon develops into something more, bringing forth notes of sharp pine, pepper and grass. Notes of grapefruit and orange pith, lemon and pineapple. The finish is dry with some sting from the hops.
Medium bodied and smooth, as well as some sharp and mouth coating hops prickliness. Carbonation is moderate.
This is truly a kick ass IPA and hands down the best I’ve had in recent memory. I would have again.
