Drank from a can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
Canned on 08/10/22
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a thick and pulpy, deep orange hue that was reminiscent of apricot nectar. A fluffy, inch-tall crown - that was basically off white with some of the orange color found in the body - topped the liquid and fizzled down to a thick, circular mass. There was no lacing whatsoever. A wall of fine, transparent sediment coated the glass.
The aroma was outstanding. Mango came through big time. Really sweet, juicy and fragrant. Slightly floral perhaps. Peach notes were also quite apparent. Loads of passionfruit as well. A touch of guava was noticeable as the beer warmed.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but definitely more tart and tangy. Mango led things off. Super juicy and sweet. Stone fruits kicked in next. Touch of passionfruit as well. As the beer moved along the palate, zesty lime notes appeared. Bit of pineapple too. The tartness and acidity crescendoed on the back end and in the finish. Nice lingering sweet-tart quality after the swallow.
The mouthfeel was super thick and viscous, like a fruit smoothie. Slippery and slick on the palate. The beer contained a fine, subtle effervescence that worked very nicely for the style.
Yummee - Pineapple, Passionfruit, Mango, Lime & Guava is yet another fantastic fruited sour collab between Trillium and The Veil. I would be happy to crush a few more of these when the warmer weather months arrive.
