Under the festival tents in Munich, you'll find thousands of Maß full of brilliantly clear, golden lager. Wiesnbier, the traditional Festbier of Oktoberfest, is beautiful in its simplicity. For our take on the style, we utilized primarily German pilsner malt and paired it with noble Spalter hops to achieve notes of rich grain, bread dough, and a touch of lemon. Subtly sweet on the palate, with a medium-bodied mouthfeel, this is a lager built for enjoying by the mug. Trillium was founded in community experiences. What better way to bring people together than with an event like Oktoberfest and a liter of crisp Wiesnbier?

Had this on tap at Trillium in Fenway, pours a gorgeous amber orange color with a medium bodied light tan colored head that laces nicely (though it was out of a plastic cup for safety). Still the nose was on point, excellent blend of roasted and toasted malts, kind of bready/cereal aromas mixed in. Taste was on point, the malt bill is perfect, there was a touch of earthy hops in there with that malt forward taste you'd expect from a marzen. Smooth, crisp, great feel as it's not too boozy or too mild. Great beer, a surprise for me from this place.

Pours clear, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is hoppy with toasted cereal. Medium body, bitter, light body. Solid but I like other Octoberfests more.

On tap in Canton, this followed their delicious Weisnbier. A maltier, sweeter version of that beer, this was just as crushable and delicious. A really tasty example of the style.
