Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Translucent amber in color, steady, moderate effervescence and fluffy white head and lacing that stuck around a looong time. Fresh cut pine and honeydew melon on the nose. Very prominent spruce tip flavors give way to some melon and slight pleasant bitter aftertaste. I was really excited to pick this one up and it didn’t disappoint. Spruce tip is an interesting flavor and can be sweeter than people expect vs more of a pine pitch type taste that sometimes come across with this style. Kind of reminiscent of gin botanicals. I really dig it but may not be for everybody. There’s a really nice balance of hops and grain to really complement the spruce tip.

Lightly hazed gold with good effervescence and two fingers of dense, yellowed foam head. The slow dissipation isn’t quite rocky, but at least somewhat wavy. It leaves thick clumps of lacing.
Pine, orange and honey stand out in the aroma.
The taste is sort of odd. It has a flash of bitterness up front that’s replaced by honey and honeydew melon sweetness in the aftertaste. I was expecting more pine, and maybe there’s a hint of that, but I’m getting more of bright orange citrus and honey flavor from them, which I guess isn’t that unusual. At times it almost gives a tropical vibe.
Medium bodied with tight, soft, pillowy carbonation.
I was expecting something more like Pennsylvania Tuxedo with clear piney bitterness and a West Coast base. This has more of a fruity, sweet, Farm-to-Table thing going for it. Not bad, just different.
