An imperial stout with bold aromas of rum and dark fruit. Indulge in notes of chocolate and roasted malt, finishing with a touch of warming character and mild bitterness.

From a 330 ml. bottle. Sampled December 10, 2025.
Served around 55 degrees. Deep dark brown pour with no head.
Aroma of roasted dark malts, chocolate fudge, dark fruit, wood, burnt ash, and light booze.
Full mouthfeel.
Taste is a slight letdown. I pick up vanilla, sweet dark roast, ash and char, and booze with a lingering buttery finish.

Look: Thick and dark, with a very light head that lasts for a bit. Dark with no light passing through. Can’t ask for much more for appearance from an imperial stout.
Smell: Roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate, slight vanilla with a slight raisin and molasses sweetness.
Taste: Much like the smell, roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate, maybe even bakers chocolate, slight sweet milk chocolate and cocoa, and molasses with some fruit flavors. There is also a slightly strange smokey taste, but it’s not overpowering.
I know I use slight repeatedly. Thankfully no milk sugar taste like other Trillium BA stouts. This is really good. It’s much greater than the sum of its parts. All these slight flavors work. No comparison to top level BA Imp. stouts, especially because it’s not sweet enough.
Feel: It truly shines here. It’s thick, smooth, creamy and full-bodied. Almost gave it a 5 on this. Not sure why I didn’t.
Overall: Again, this just works, much greater than the sum of its parts. So basically, overall it’s balanced and really quite good. It’s not fully worth the $25 price tag, especially because it only 330 mls but I could drink it regularly if not for availably and price.

11.2 oz bottle - 2024
Pours pitch black with a frothy brown foam head. Smells like sweet dried fruits, candied orange, spice, smoked meat, chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, rum barrel, with mid earthy hops. Tastes like dried fruits, smoked meat, rum barrel, hint of leather, candied orange, spice, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, with mild earthy hops. Feels medium plus bodied, creamy with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a real nice rum barrel aged imperial stout.
