An ode to New England, these spontaneous fermented ales are brewed using local malted barley, raw wheat, and aged hops. Resting overnight in our coolship, they are inoculated by the native microflora unique to the area we inhabit.

After several years aging in oak, Habitat: 2024 Blend 2 showcases aromas of blueberry & raspberry with a light hop character and sweetness.

Bottle from the packie
Pretty clear deep purple with a huge rocky frothy white with pink edges, leaves lots of lace on the way down. Tart fruity earthy funky nose oh yeah that smells wonderful. Tart fruits dripping with earthy funk against a creamy bubbly mouthfeel. Very nice beer right here.

Appearance: Beautiful, deep ruby/concord grape color with a quickly dissipating pinkish head. Nice, effervescent look, bubbling nicely.

Aroma: Very faint berry, slight tannins up the nose. Pleasant aroma.

Taste: Oh that is delicious! There's a lot going on there. Sour berries. This is right up my alley. Light funk, not terribly sour, but it's present enough. I'm trying to drink this slowly and embrace it, but it is so tasty and refreshing that I could gulp it. Every sip gets better. Just poured the rest of the bottle, including limited dregs which provided a more pronounced sour taste [in a good way] and somehow I'm getting more berry flavor.

Mouthfeel: Pretty balanced. Not too thin. I'm salivating but not puckering. There is a great balance in this.

Overall: I wish I had a pallet of these; would make for a great summer. I'm surprised at the subdued nose on this taking into account literally everything else about this beer. I would 100% buy this again. I'm very happy with this beer.

500ml bottle

Pours a cloudy opaque dark ruby red with a dense creamy pink foam head. Smells like big fresh berries, seedy raspberries, juicy blueberries, some barnyard funk, horseblanket, hay, straw, dusty earthy hops, oak, wheaty malt, and lemon acidity. Tastes really sour with tart berries, fresh raspberry, blueberries, acidic lemon, slight vinegar, toasty hay, straw, barnyard funk, horseblanket, wheaty malt, woody oak barrel, with dusty earthy herbal hops. Feels medium plus bodied, juicy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a nice spontaneously fermented wild ale with raspberries and blueberries.
