Got a 22oz bomber at Wild Carvery in Burbank. Pours amber, almost orange, with aggressive visible carb bubbles coming up from the bottom. A slight head that persists. The aroma is malty and citrus, more mango and wet bread. Sweet and as user @whatthehull said, maybe a whisky note?
The taste is juice again along with hops but they're not bitter or piney. Some earth, dough, the sweet is closer to lemonade than grapefruit or orange. (It's not the tart you might expect from a hoppy IPA). Lighter than a DIPA, not astringent at all. Being a double, maybe the esters are making it taste a bit boozy? The mouthful is a bit oily. But the bitter, supposedly 75, is subtle. This has a clean crisp finish and is quite refreshing.
It's a crisp sweet double IPA without the sickly sweet they sometimes have. The alcohol punch is only partially hidden. Not bad, very drinkable.

What can I say, I like beer.
This tastes more like amber than an IPA. the 8.6% is balanced by the malt. Can't really find the hop finish.

Poured into a snifter/tulip/wine glass from a 22 oz bottle
A - A semi translucent blood range/Bright copper, two finger frothy semi off white head and a bit of sticky legs/lacing
S - Belgian yeast, sweet malts, sugar, ripe fruit, some kind of sweet whiskey note, maybe some pine, flowers and more sugar
T - Banana, sweet fruits, sugar, sweet malts, synthetic like hops, strange booze note, bread and Belgian like yeast, bright grains, sweet floral hops, baking spices,
M - Medium body, ok balance, weird complexity, medium acidity, medium plus carbonation and a strange sweet to synthetically bitter finish.
D/O - This DIPA leaves a strange almost film like feeling on the mouth, very weird. Worth trying but this more for science and love of beer than for anything else. A whole lot and, a whole lot of nothing going on here. "What a long strange trip it has been" comes to mind. Easy to drink and, overly sweet but, at least refreshing and the water tastes very pure and crisp
Final thoughts - $7 is an excessive price for this beer but glad I tried it. The 8.6% ABV left me needing nothing in that department -- just seems like a wasted effort. Has potential for sure but misses the mark by a bit

Over malty, no hop character. Kinda gross. Can't finish a 22, and I'm thirsty. Paid $8, instead I should have gotten the Hop Rod Rye from Bear Republic for $5
