A very sweet tasting ginger beer, almost to the point where you begin getting tired of it by the end. I usually can't entice myself to have another one just because it has a very unique flavour about it. I would not recommend using this beer in say a Moscow mule as the sweetness overrides the drink and ruins the flavour, although using it in other ginger beer cocktails may be okay. On its own the beer is lackluster, usually a cheap option over say Crabbies but ultimately succumbing to the quality denoted by its generally low price point.

650ml bottle. Probably quite similar to the Bad Hare ginger offering, since they're made in the same regretful place.
This beer pours a clear, medium bronzed amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, very loosely foamy, and mostly just fizzy off-white head, which wisps away quite quickly, leaving a bit of melting iceberg lace around the glass.
It smells of sharp, tingly ginger root, a grainy, lightly crackery breadiness, corn cereal, and an uncertain musty, earthy thing that I'm not sure is hop or ginger root in origin. The taste is sugary sweet (gah, must pause here to scrape my tongue) ginger soda, sans the fizz, fake this and faker that, with the faintest hint of actual beery graininess, wherever the hell they bought it the cheapest, I suppose. Nothing else worth mentioning, even the proclaimed 'alcoholic' nature of it all.
The carbonation is rather soft and out of touch with the various tendrils of my palate, the body a slick, solid middleweight, and smoothed over like simple syrup. It finishes sweet, somewhat gingery, and nothing more.
Yeah, every once in a while I have to drop back down into the netherworld of brewdom, just to see what's going on. Turns out that things haven't really changed, Minhas is still pumping out oversimplified, plain-ass offerings such as this - and that's one of the nicest things I've ever said about them or their products.
