Dark brown color, good carbonation. Predominant roasted malt flavor but there are still hints of alcohol as most of these beers. It's decent thought. But I agree with others, there are no spices to make it a winter beer like most do.

Poured from a 12oz can.

On a hard pour 3 fingers of tan head that quickly becomes fizzy and rocky. Body is a nearly black, dark brown, but held to light, it clearly isn't black.

Aroma is almost a porter with chocolatey roasty notes, and a sweetness, but there is a strange fermentation tartness hiding in there. Less DMS than most of these beers but still not a deep dark porter.

Taste is surprisingly light. At first a hop bitterness creeps in then the sweet roastiness comes in relatively quickly. Everything fades quick and at first carbonation covers a lot of flavor. Only 2 real notes in the flavor.

Feel is drying but quite drinkable. Very high carbonation here. Slight syrupy mouthfeel grows in the back of the mouth.

Overall this was one of the least bad out of the pack, but there were better. Lacks the trademark Minhas DMS.

Dark reddish brown color with a modest foamy tan head with some decent lacing.
The aroma is a bit of coffee, chocolate and some vague spices.
The taste is dark roasted malt with some chocolate and coffee notes, a bit of burnt toast and some spiciness in the dry finish.
The body is medium, moderate carbonation.
Altogether, this is a decent drinkable porter. The taste improves as it warms up a bit.

The 12 oz can provides no hints about what makes this a "winter" porter. Usually this would mean some 'winter' spices have been added. It does smell like this is the case but there's less effect on the flavor. This would be better than over spicing in most cases but perhaps not when the base beer is so mediocre and the spice mix is questionable.
Improved with warming.
