Birrificio Artigianale BioNoc' "Meingose"
alla spina @ Serpente Pub, Roma, Italy on 30 NOV 2015
Notes: This beer grew out of a collaboration with Brewhouse Rock in Quero, Italy. This version was brewed and bottled at BioNoc' using Pediococcus (and possibly lactobacillus) and Himalayan pink salt.
Appearance: Slightly hazy straw gold body beneath a bright white head. Head retention and lacing are limited, but that's somewhat expected for the style.
Aroma: Fruity and sour combined.
Flavor: Salt upfront, quickly fruity, then sour. The malt comes through towards the swallow. Very nicely balanced, not too sour or salty; and with a good transition of the flavors across the palate - something that you don't necessarily find in gosebiers.
Mouthfeel: Light-medium to medium-light in body and bristling with a fine-bubbled, gently effervescent carbonation.
Overall: Quite pleasant! An excellent rendition of the gosebier style. Both refreshing and satisfying.
