On-tap at Capital Ale House, Richmond, VA
A: The beer is crystal clear red in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with just a hint of off white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Sweet aromas of Belgian candi sugar are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and is very sweet with lots of flavors of candi sugars.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes a lot more like a Dubbel than a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. It's a little one dimensional with all of the aromas and flavors of candi sugars but if you like this then it would be your cup of tea.

L: Had this on-tap at Capital Ale House - Midlothian, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color a thick consistency. there was a 3/4", foamy, off white, fairly long-lasting head. Average lacing.
S: A decent, if a little underwhelming aroma of Belgian yeast, hops, candi sugar, apples, and citrus.
T: Tasted of a small amount of hops (less than expected), a good shot of Belgian-style yeast, some mild candi sugar notes, lots of apples, a little citrus (mandarin orange), and some malt. An interesting flavor with the inclusion of the hops and citrus fruit. It starts out kind of thin, but gets much better as it goes along.
F: A solid amount of carbonation with a vibrant finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This beer is uneven in spots, but is likable nonetheless. Worth a try.
