Our “Wee Heavy.” A deep copper to brown-colored brew. Sweeter and fuller-bodied, and of course higher in alcohol, with a much more pronounced malty caramel and roasted malt flavor.

this was an excellent beer, one of the best i had all weekend, and easily the best one i had here this afternoon, thats for sure. the appearance is amazing, a nice nutty mahogany copper color to it, with one of the nicest creamiest heads ive ever seen. its full and thick, frothing and active, like bubbling tan lava over the beer, and with a gentle swirl of the glass, it can be revived to a stiff peaky three quarters inch of tight bubbles, really really attractive in the glass, and the base beer has fine clarity to it as well. the nose is burning sugars, wet wood, a hint of smoke, maple, cured meat, and caramel. sexy and rich. it tastes great too, layered with the grain, molasses and honey, almonds and dates, like a trail mix of sorts. i like the smoke in here too, campfire rauch type, with none of the acrid harshness some have. sweet in the end, but not too sweet, and plenty flavorful. great grain base and amazing execution. id like to know more about the yeast, its not overly flavorful but seems authentic here in the style, and english sort of vibe going on with it too. its almost amazing how good this was compared to most of the rest of the beers we had here, which were for the most part very average. this one is a keeper for sure though. one of the best american examples of the style i have had in some time...
