Our brown ale is brewed with a blend of different malts, including roasted malts, which results in a dark brown color and intriguing malt flavor…smooth and eminently quaffable.

a really basic and generic brown ale, but one well enough executed for what it is. drinkable and with potential for broad appeal. the servers here recommended it, but it didnt stand out much to me, and was one of the least impressive of the beers i had here today. a little thin for the style in terms of appearance and mouthfeel, but it still has rather well developed chocolate malt flavors. the yeast is there too, not at all flavorless, maybe a mild english strain or fermented a little cooler, a nice little touch. beyond that though, its the usual smells and tastes of the style, and it lacks body and carbonation both. pleasingly dry in the finish though, and with some soft hop bitterness creeping in late as well. im not sure what more they could have done with this one, but it tastes like about a million other american made nameless brown ales out there. something about this style (and ambers as well), that make a lot of them taste really similar. its like, google search brown ale recipe, click the first link, and make the beer. do brewers do that? this beer makes it seem like it, although its better made from a technical standpoint than a lot of others, the flavors just fade into the crowd for me though...
