a funky berliner with peaches, apricots, and plums, and one of the first sour beers i have had or seen from these guys, really pretty solid overall. a hazy pinkish orange color, muted and soft looking but with quite a lot of body evident for what it is. the nose isnt just a quick lacto thing on the yeast side, there is some almost saison sort of yeast here too, more rustic and funky than just the lacto on its own, and not super sour but enough to get my mouth watering a bit. i get more of the apricots than the other fruits in the nose, enhanced by the light acidity, some lemon to this, and the sweetness of all the fruits as well. the flavor is nice, good balance between the fruit and the grain surprisingly enough. so many of these get so far away from tasting like beer, but there is a great fluffy wheatiness about this that ties it all together. some tang from the plums too is nice with the lacto, and the apricots and peaches extend long through the finish, very natural tasting and cool with whatever the other yeast element is. i thought this was quite good, and it has me excited about some of the forthcoming sours i have head these guys have in the works!
