Perfection apricots from Z’s Orchards in Palisade on a blend of 9, 14, and 18 month golden sour, refermented in a High West Bourbon Barrel with fresh local wildflower honey. The product rendered was then blended with a small portion of sour grapes that refermented on Riesling grapes.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like extremely, extremely sour, with lots of acid, overripe peaches, white wine vinegar, oak, and lemon zest.
I like the interplay between the apricot and that little touch of grape here, but this is overall just uncompromisingly sour. It leans towards pure acid, enamel-stripping nearly - it really takes a bit away from the overall enjoyment factor.
This is light bodied, and a bit of a chore to drink. It's just too sour.
I usually really love Westbound and Down, but this one was just too out of balance. The fruit character was really tasty, but the culture just got out of control on this one.
