This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like heavily roasted malt, smoke, vanilla, oak, bourbon, dark chocolate, and just a hint of coconut.
Like most stouts from these guys, this is solid stuff. However, the time in the bottle has faded the coconut away to nearly nothing. The base stout and derived barrel notes are excellent though, with char, oak spice, leathery bourbon, roasted malt, and dark chocolate truffles taste are excellent, and help me to not miss the coconut.
This is medium bodied, not super thick or anything, but well balanced and pretty creamy. There's not much booziness to it.
I basically need to try every Westbound and Down stout at this point.
