Aged 11 months in Sauternes barrels from the Graves section of Bordeaux and Elijah Craig bourbon barrels! The malt bill blends the famed Maris Otter and Golden Promise of the UK in such huge proportions that it brings notes of sweet fig, toffee, and Rollos and dark fruit with oak tannin and vanillin from the barrels. Every year this beer is inspired by blending traditional bourbon barrels with a unique barrel we believe will individually highlight the nuances of English barleywine and its yeast character. As in all years, we use the same yeast that produces our favorite Fuller’s Vintage Ale. Ready to drink now or age for decades to come!

This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like dried dark fruit, port, caramel, coconut, raisin, toffee, vanilla, and oak.
I'm not entirely sure if this is better than the 2020 version with cognac and bourbon, but it's still quite excellent, nonetheless. There's fig, raisin, and dry port, with oak, vanilla, some chocolate, caramel, toffee - it's very complex, and obviously delicious.
This is medium bodied, with a bit of warmth but no real overt booziness to it. It's got a nice creaminess, but isn't absurdly thick or syrupy.
Anything that Westbound and Down has put into a barrel, I need to also put it in my mouth.
