A blend of Imperial Stouts aged in a single Pappy 23 barrel.
A cuvee of Single Barrel Select: Heaven Hill Double Absence (DA), Single Barrel Select: Blanton’s DA, and Single Barrel Select: Weller DA from the beginning of the membership, topped up with some fresh Double Oatmeal stout resulting in a blend of 25% of each aged in a Pappy 23 barrel. Huge, nearly unattainable oak character from this double barreling. Rich walnut, dark cocoa, anise, leather and chocolate covered tobacco leaf, sown tightly together with immense tannins. This beer should be poured, sipped, left alone to aerate and warm, then reapproached slowly and contemplatively.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, tobacco, heavy duty spicy oak, leather, chocolate-covered espresso beans, and vanilla.
This is absolutely the pinnacle of what this brewery is able to do with barrel aged stouts. There's just so much barrel here, while remaining soft, creamy, and super drinkable. There's a dried tobacco, cedar, oak, and vanilla from the barrel, with loads of rich, rich, melted dark chocolate, some light nuttiness - pecan, walnuts, something like that.
This is medium bodied, creamy, rich, and decadent, with just about the perfect body - not too thick and syrupy, just the perfect velvety body.
This is absolutely a special beer and I'm not gonna drink many better stouts this year.
