This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like toasty oak, coconut, milk chocolate, cookie dough, char, and marshmallow.
I think the Weller versions of this are ultimately a little bit better here, but this is just still classic and vintage Westbound and Down. It’s super chocolatey, with spicy and warming barrel character that just oozes marshmallow, char, spice, vanilla, and a touch of coconut. There’s lots of oakiness, and some coffee as well.
This is medium bodied, warming, but not overly boozy, with a great drinkability.
I will never, ever, turn down a pour of something barrel aged from Westbound and Down.
