On tap at the Hop & Pie in Denver today. Have to think this is another gabf special release.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose I'm getting anise, dark chocolate, noticeable bourbon and vanilla. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with the vanilla, anise and bourbon dominating. There's also an interesting toffee flavor on the finish that's intriguing. Mouthfeel is fairly full, with a moderately long finish. Alcohol is pretty well integrated into the flavor profile, but even so, this is a massively proportioned, obviously boozy ba impy Stout.
This is a pretty serious ba impy stout and not for the faint of heart. Got a 12 ounce glass and expect to take an hour drinking it. Impressive beer.
