I picked up a mix sixer of this and some other locals at Crafty Draught in Mount Pleasant SC.
This is batch #126, whatever that means. Why cant a brewer just put BO092917? Why do I have to look up some stupid code on the internet or call you hotline? Just tell me when the damn thing was made and let me make my own decision. Jeez!
This in no way resembles an IPA. The color is not pale, it is an amber color. Looks like a Yuengling or any other traditional lager like Sam Adams. Aroma wasn't hop centric or even hop neutral. All malts in this one. Maybe a little bit of pine aroma, but not much. Mostly a caramel malt and breadiness.
Flavor was way off also. Not only off with the flavor spectrum, but off in regards to drinkability. Kind of sour and green appley. Coming off a pale ale before this one, this is damn near undrinkable. There is some hop bitterness in the way way back of the finish, but no upfront hop smack indicative of an IPA.
Total disappointment. I now have 5 more to drink of this dud.
