This was a purchase from Total Wine & More in Everett, MA during my last visit to BOS. It got shunted to the side until now, but The CANQuest (tm) is glad to have to have the ChANce to add it to the madness.
From the CAN: "A shout out to the city we call home, Lynn Light is pale yellow with a subtle hop-spice; and easy-drinking beer for hard working people."
I was really looking forward to this one since it seemed like such an anomaly. Usually, a "Light" beer CANsists of a Lager & yet this was a variation on an APA! I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug, but I had to stop when it beCAN to foam unCANtrollably. It eventually settled into two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention. Color was a gorgeous Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity & while I was CANtemplating liquid sunshine, The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus ran in for a taste. Nose had a Noble hop quality that was both pleasant & unexpected. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste had a Czech/Boho Pils quality with both a Saaz-like grassy hoppiness & a biscuity maltiness & yet it was an ale. It made me curious as to what yeast strain was used in its production. Hmm. I wonder how well this flies with the people asking for a "Light" craft beer. I thought that it was an unexpected pleasant surprise, but would this be the case for everybody? Finish was crisp & dry. It was CANpletely unlike any APA that I CAN remember & yet it was very good. YMMV.

Pours golden yellow with a medium, foamy white head. Mostly clear, just slightly cloudy.
Super crisp and refreshing. Starts with a bit of sweet grain, finishes a little bit bitter with a small hop kick. Surprisingly long finish for such a light, clean, crisp beer.
Not super robust and not super complex but an excellent, easy-drinking beer perfect for a hot summer day. Pairs pretty well with spicy food. I like to keep a few cans on hand for when I want a beer but I'm also thirsty and want something more easily gulped.

You want a beer called Lynn Light to be a suitable match for what "light beer drinkers" want. BUT - It is no match. It is far superior! Crisp, clean and perfectly balanced (for an extra pale) with the slightest up kick at the finish of spice hop. Have one or have many - it won't weigh you down but is more complex than the name suggests!

yellow golden in golor. Big fluff white head. Sweet grain, pilsner malt, nuttiness and cardboard. Semi-dry and bitter finish. Clean, light and easy drinking. Not bad, not really good either. Summer sipper for sure.
